Send from Gmail, Apple Mail or Outlook
Use a signed reverse address so you can write in your own mail app but send as your mask.
If you'd rather write in your everyday mail client, use a signed reverse address. It looks like reply+recipient=domain=aliasId=hmac@maskr.online and is unique to one mask and one recipient.
- 1On the alias card, click Mail App.
- 2Enter the email address of the person you want to write to.
- 3Copy the generated address, or click Open in Mail App.
- 4Send your email to that address from your verified destination inbox.
Maskr delivers it to your recipient from your mask. You can use your own signatures, formatting and attachments without ever exposing your real address.
Security rules for reverse aliases
- Verified inboxes only — your message must be sent from the destination inbox linked to the mask or a verified additional inbox. Emails from unknown addresses are rejected.
- Cryptographic HMAC signature — reverse addresses contain a tamper-proof signature to prevent unauthorized third parties from forging sender routes.
- Daily limits & cooldowns — outbound sending is protected by daily quotas (Starter: 50/day, Pro: 200/day, Max: 300/day, PayUGo: 500/day) and a burst limit (max 10 emails/minute).
How do you know if an email fails?
If a reverse reply cannot be delivered (for example, if you send from an unverified address, hit your daily limit, or your PayUGo wallet is empty), the Maskr Mailer Daemon immediately sends an automated delivery failure bounce to your inbox explaining the exact reason and how to fix it.
