How to set, change, or remove usernames
Configure your personal username handles to create custom subdomains and dot-format aliases.
Your Maskr username gives you your own personal privacy subdomain (e.g. yourname.maskr.online). Paid plans allow you to hold multiple usernames for different personas, such as personal, shopping, or side projects.
Primary username vs. Extra usernames
- Primary username — Created during signup. This is your permanent account identifier and cannot be deleted.
- Extra usernames — Additional handles you add on paid plans (Starter: up to 6 total; Pro: up to 16 total; Max and Pay-As-You-Go: up to 51 total). These can be added and removed at any time.
How to add an extra username
- 1Go to Dashboard → Settings and click the Profile & Account tab (or visit
/dashboard/settings?tab=profile). - 2Scroll down to the Account Privacy Username card.
- 3Type your preferred handle into the username field (letters, numbers, hyphens allowed).
- 4Click Add Username (or Save).
- 5Your new username and its catch-all subdomain (
handle.maskr.online) activate immediately!
How to remove an extra username
- 1Go to Dashboard → Settings → Profile & Account.
- 2Scroll down to your list of usernames under Account Privacy Username.
- 3Click the Remove (trash / cross) icon next to the extra username you wish to delete.
- 4Confirm the deletion in the prompt.
To protect your privacy, any username you delete enters a permanent quarantine. No other user on Maskr can ever register that username, preventing anyone from hijacking future emails sent to your old addresses.
